Where To Find Shiny Pokemon In Pokemon Sword & Shield

Shiny Pokemon return in Sword & Shield. This guide explains Where To Find Shiny Pokemon In Pokemon Sword & Shield as the game uses much of the same mechanics from prior games. Using some hidden mechanics you can increase your chances of finding Shiny Pokemon.
It’s still very early in the life of Pokemon Sword and Shield so there’s likely some new mechanics and features relating to Shiny Pokemon that have yet to be discovered. Things like resetting shiny combos, breaking combos, there’s a lot to think about.
Where To Find Shiny Pokemon In Pokemon Sword & Shield

However, a few things we do know from datamined information. There is a combat combo and a general overall combo. You have a 1 in nearly 5000 chance of finding a Shiny Pokemon, so it’s very slim. However, you increase these chances with a Combat and Overall Combo. A combat combo is how many of that Pokemon you have defeated in a row. For example, if you are hunting for a Magikarp, every one you kill in a row counts towards a combo.
If you catch a Pokemon or kill a Pokemon that isn’t the one you’re hunting, the combo resets. The overall counter is how many times you have defeated that Pokemon, total. Over your entire adventure. That doesn’t reset but it doesn’t increase your chances as much.
So basically, if you want X Pokemon to be a shiny, hunt that Pokemon over and over again. Without defeating or capturing ANY other Pokemon of any type. Shiny Pokemon are not visible on the over world, they will become Shiny at the start of battle.

Weather plays a huge role in the game but what do the symbols mean? this Pokemon Sword & Shield Weather Symbols Guide features all of the different weather symbols we have encountered so far and the weather that correlates to each particular symbol.
When you open your map you can press the + button to reveal the weather in every location in the game. This is important in many ways but most noticeable in the Wild Area, where rare and sometimes powerful Pokemon can only spawn during certain weather conditions.
Pokemon Sword & Shield Weather Symbols Guide

While the weather is based on the date and time, you can change the weather by altering the Switch clock. However, not all weather is available. Some weather conditions are tied to in-game progress so if you’re looking for Fog, or a Storm, you may need to progress further in the game.

How To Evolve Sinistea In Pokemon Sword & Shield

Sinistea requires a special item to evolve. This guide on How To Evolve Sinistea In Pokemon Sword & Shield tells you all about the special evolution item including multiple locations where this unique evolution bonus can be found.
Sinistea is one of the many new Pokemon that have been added with the release of Sword and Shield, and the 8th generation of Pokemon. It’s become a bit of a fan favorite already, mostly because the game is loosely shaped on the UK’s natural and archaeological styling. After all, it’s a floating cup of tea.
What Is The Cracked Pot For?

Sinistea evolves into X. You need a special item, called a Cracked Pot. There is a man in the market at Stow-on-Side that sells a special item every day, he sells the Cracked Pot. Where To Find Oranguru In Pokemon Shield

Oranguru is a brand new Pokemon exclusive to Pokemon Shield. In this guide we tell you exactly Where To Find Oranguru In Pokemon Shield, who is hidden away in a very specific area with another highly sought after Pokemon exclusive to Shield.
A Pokemon exclusive to Shield means it can only be caught if you are playing Pokemon Shield. It can be used in Sword if traded, but Shield is the only place you will catch a wild one. A word of warning, this is a very low spawn. I was sitting here looking to find Ponyta for about 45 minutes, only a single Oranguru appeared in that time.
Where To Find Oranguru In Pokemon Shield

Search the long grass in Glimwood Tangle. It’s just South of Ballonlea. Pokemon here do not appear visually, only random encounters in the long grass, which makes it more difficult to find the Pokemon you want. Oranguru is a Normal Psychic Pokemon so be careful using moves it’s weak against or you may kill it in a single shot.
It’s a low spawn but Oranguru can take a hit or two so use basic moves and you shouldn’t have too much trouble catching one for yourself.

Ponyta is available in both Pokemon Sword & Shield but she is exclusive to Shield in terms of capture. This means you can find and catch Ponyta in Pokemon Shield, but must trade to obtain her in Pokemon Sword.
Where To Find Ponyta In Pokemon Shield

You can find Ponyta in the Glimwood Tangle area, it’s very close to Ballonlea, just to the South. It’s a long grass Pokemon, so you cannot see it visually. You have to encounter random Pokemon in the grass to find Ponyta.
Ponyta is weak to dark moves so be very careful using abilities like Bite and Crunch. Wild Ponyta’s have very low defense, so any super effective attack is likely to kill it in a single hit.
